I have woken late today almost just in time to get ready to leave for my next shift. Here you can see two special friends we made in The gambia...Beres and Kalifa [Kalifa's wearing sunglasses].... who gave us many laughs and took us to there compounds to meet their families. They also took us to the orphanage, above is a photo of me with one of the orphans...i will be posting more later including one of the newly abandoned babies.
The other photo is of my sister and her husband...Vicki and Trevor, i am really close to my sister and love her to bits. They are very caring good fun people. Stood with them is our very loyal guide and friend Chief he really did look after us and will do again on our return next year. We also met his sister they invited us for dinner at their compound, there were mountains of food and i shall be posting photo's of how they prepare the food and then how it is dished up and eaten.Which is very different from the way we eat our food. We had a lovely and very welcoming afternoon.

Hi lynn.it's cat here.Am at davids again, so have taken the opportunity to look at your blog. I loved reading about your time in the gambia. I personally could not have visited the orphanage as it would have upset me too much. i am actually quite a softie underneath my cool, calm exterior lol. Can't wait to see you at work when the powers that be finally allow me to come back!!!
