Decorating goes on

The spare bedroom is almost complete and the kitchen well on its way.

Vin wasn't sure about the curtains i have chosen for the kitchen but i like them and others say they do.

A mixed week this week...my brother in laws mum has died, the funeral is tomorrow. The funeral will be huge, she had a very big family....over 150 grandchildren. speakers are being put outside for those who cannot get in.

Jules one of our battle field friends will be moving back to Australia when we return from Belgium and France in November.....on the plus side we have been invited his wedding....so we now need an Australia fund...that will take some saving Vin wants to include Hawaii and such as well!!!!

Catching up again!!

I thought last year past quickly but this year has to be the fastest.... so again i haven't kept my promise but i do promise you i am working at it.

For a month i have only had one day a week off work...that's a lot of long and tiring hours.
Most of nursing now is dealing with dissatisfaction brought about by the media it makes our job very tiring especially when you are doing your best to please.

So i was really uplifted [especially at this time of year] to receive the above certificate [that goes through a process before you receive one].....an anonymous person completes a form for the person they think deserve it. it then goes to a panel of chief nurses before it is awarded. I think normally ...so i am told it usually takes a few nominations.

Then on Friday i was called to our reception desk where a patient i had nursed presented me with the beautiful bouquet of flowers and a lovely card and message.

Yesterday was the 11Th anniversary of Jades passing. I worked in the morning and then we had a barbecue in the afternoon. I didn't take any photo's but these are of the aftermath...i think we did well there were 14 of us my boys their partners, Karl Vin's grandson, my granddaughters and Harry Ellis of course Jayne i also had a lovely unexpected sup rise visit from Trudy's eldest Danny. Trudy and Nichola were unable to make it but would have loved to.

My day had a strange start yesterday ...i set off to the cemetery to take Jades flowers.
That was 6am the atmosphere was the same because it had been early Sunday morning when we lost Jade....then realised my journey to work followed the route taken to get Jade to the hospital....i thought i was very brave ....but to top it all i had to go with a young boy i was caring for to B ward where Jade spent frequent amounts of time and the staff became good friends.....I think i did well and am patting myself on the back.

Progress in the bungalow.....

Vin's still busy in the bungalow...the small bedroom is almost finished and looking good and we have part emptied the kitchen ready to start.

I like to keep photo's of Vin's hard work especially as he has had to knock down walls, re plaster when it all fell off and lots more when we first moved in. The bungalow needed a lot of work complete bathroom the lot.

And now he's had the patience to change the decor and put up beams etc.,for me!! which has taken him a lot longer than when we normally re-decorate.

I realised today the only place i haven't photographed {I have before and after photo's taken prior to these changes in an album] is the wardrobe in our bedroom.

We had a small cupboard in the bedroom and an outside lobby. Down came walls and our cupboard became a wardrobe and the outside lobby is smaller but big enough for a tall freezer, tumble dryer and our hoover.

Update

It's only now that I am starting to get my energy back. Everyone I know seems to have has some bug or other so I seem to have had a real mix of things going on.

The date for Go Ape is the 10Th of October and there is a lot of interest and the sponsors are adding up.

The charity night I hope will be either the 3rd or 17Th Oct there are a couple of things i need to sort out first.

I have contacted commando fit at Wakefield and it looks great...hard but great...so when the energy levels feel safe...and I hope that's soon I shall be able to join..I am starting with wii fit first and continuing the Wii fit in between commando fit or when I have to work.

The choice of food is another matter...I have started with high protein so am buying lots more soya than usual.
