Bathroom

Vins hard work as usual is paying off. The bathroom is finished and i am really pleased with it.

At first i wasn't sure how to change it...colour wise, Nichola suggested pulling out one of the neutral colours on the picture tiles...so i did and i think it was a good idea, the bathroom looks fresher and bigger. A shower curtain instead of a shower door also makes a difference.

I should be back at work in the morning, i really hate being unwell...i certainly don't have time to be. I am interviewing applicants for my old job so it should be ok, a late start and an early finish. A long day to follow then a couple more off before my next long day should see me sorted and hopefully back to normal.

I have lots to catch up on. I am going to try and find how to do a sponsor form on line for the Goape today and get back on with getting organised for the charity evening. Hopefully next week i am back on track to get fit for the Goape.

Been unwell

I haven't posted on here for a few days because i have been unwell had some bug or other. This has meant no food for four days and no sleep either. I finally managed food yesterday and some sleep last night.

Here are a few photo's that i liked that Sam put on face book, mostly taken while they were in Goa.

Another couple of days should see me back at work and back on track with my sponsor attempts....watch this space......

Week one......

The interest in Go ape and my karaoke evening is really good.

This week the wine has stopped....sensible eating started.....and exercises regime planned.

I am trying to arrange dates that will fit in with people who want to participate...that fits in with work...and doesn't coincide with other pre-planned arrangements.

There are sponsor forms to produce, raffle prizes to collect letters to write..... i have learnt from previous experience that it takes making a lot of contacts to be successful with a few.

So am busy busy busy.....

Starts tomorrow!!

My get fit regime starts tomorrow, i am hoping to blog each day so people can follow how i am doing. Sometimes life and being too busy takes over...well not sometimes most times, but i will do my best.

I will also update sponsorship and money raised.

I have £550.00 at the present time remaining after our donation to the missionary, pretty good to say we only did two car boots and had a couple of donations.

We start car boots again next week...some of the items we have been given will be put on sale on eBay.

For the next 12 weeks i will be training hard, watching my diet and of course no wine will be allowed!!!!

All of this to enable me to complete a Tarzan style assault course...that's 40ft up and i am scared of heights.

As you know there are two causes that are important to me [of course i also give to others] but i have two that i want to raise money for.

The Gambia and building a school is one and lochnagar crater is the other.

I am also preparing for a charity night.

Happy 1st birthday Casey xx

Casey is of course oblivious to the fact the she is one today. Puzzled at being sung happy birthday but quite excited.

Casey slept a full twelve hours last night and has woken in a lovely mood. We shall be going shopping then going home to her mum and dad.

Here is photo of Casey taken last night. Vin's son called with four of his five children so as well as a photo of Casey with Levi and Derby there is a rare photo of Vin's son Neil.

1916 Lee Enfield Rifle

Whilst we were house sitting for Marin and Katie Peglar at orchard farm, Vin repaired a few floorboards. These floor boards are 90 years old and have worn really well. Some of the few that were replaced turned to sawdust when they were removed. The house is built on top of a german trench.

Martin gave Vin the rifle pictured above and now has pride of place below my son Lee's regimental photo.

The rifle was used from 1916 and possibly again during the second world war.

Martin has a lot of memorabilia as you can see. He is also an author and is in great demand for his knowledge of the war.

Casey

Tomorrow is Casey's first birthday. it's her aunts 30Th birthday today which was celebrated by everyone last night. We were invited but so lee didn't miss it we have had Casey instead. We are still tired from our journey home which was through the night.

We will be taking Casey home in the morning in time for her birthday party.

So as usual i have taken photo's of Casey while she is with us. Libby was at a friends birthday party's so was not able to stay this weekend.
