My granddaughter was born yesterday....5th July, 17.30, 7lbs 15 and is gorgeous. I was present at the birth and couldn't have been prouder.
We arrived home from France early... [3rd].... after cancelling our visit to Belgium. Sam started with pains early on the 4th,....so no time to post anything from our trip,....today's post belongs to Casey.
I arrived at the hospital around 3am on the fifth, it was quite a lengthy labour.... Sam and Lee both did great.
Casey was so placid and took a while to cry so that she would turn from a darkish blue to a nice pink, after encouragement she cried although wasn't in any way distressed. Later she was happy to suck on her thumb then feed from her mum as though she had done it before.
No kisses yet for me though because i have a cold sore!!!! Lee was asked to have skin to skin contact with Casey but had stubble from shaving his chest....hence no top on and Casey is wrapped in two towel's....
Everyone was tired but really happy.
Today's thought:-
"One never knows what each day is going to bring. The important thing is to be open and ready for it".
Henry Moore, Sculptor.
