My birthday

My last post was the day before my birthday, which fell in the middle of my night shifts. Even though i have worked six out of seven nights this week i feel it has been a very special week. I recieved lovely cards from family and friends as always and some special {thoughtful} presents, as well as quite a bit of money which i enjoyed spending on the garden. We shopped at the Range nr Doncaster, which is a big store that includes a garden centre, and well worth a visit. I would say i have been very spoilt this week.

You can see from the photo's my collection of pots are growing, we have lots of seeds germinating and ready to move out of the greenhouse. Other larger pots around the garden have allsorts growing in them, we have forgotten what we have put where. The stands with the pots on are waiting to be painted, and if you look below the wheel....{on the fencing that needs staining}....there are two round plant holders, they are old tyres turned inside out. i painted one black but have decided to paint them green and ask Vin to paint some yellow flowers. The white flowers around the wheel are called 'The Bride' and smell lovely. Across from the wheel is a cute little yellow watering can i couldn't resist. We have also added a tortoise to Jades garden, its quite cute and has a nodding head.

Vin leaves for France next week, hopefully if the weather holds i will be able to spend time in the garden,helping with the staining and painting. but mostly i am looking forward to filling the hanging baskets. The semi circle ones on the wall are self watering ones, which will be useful for when i join Vin in France. I thought i would try for a lot of yellow in the baskets/garden this year. The sunflower seeds are germinating really well and hopefully the marigolds will be in full bloom soon. A few have been taken by the birds, but we should still have plenty. The blossom is out on the cherry tree over hanging the front garden and with the breeze it almost looks like snow falling and is really pretty....so are the bluebells and the tulips.
